One Year Engagement!

Last year, on August 16, 2011 the love of my life asked me to marry him!
I went to school, as it was a pretty normal day.. so, I thought. I came home from school and Sara and my mom went to the "store" so I decided to take a nap, since Matt had a "dentist appointment." I was woke after about 20 minutes. My dad called me to the living room to hear a song. It was, "I loved her first" By: Heartland. Of course, I already heard it. But, I stayed and listened to it. After the first verse, I heard a knock at the door thinking possibly it could be Sara and my mom... But, It was and yet again it kinda wasn't. To my suprise it was Matt down on one knee! Who would have thought that?! He asked me, "Elizabeth Rae Hedges, Will you marry me?" Of course, I said, "yes!" It was perfect! He done it on my grandma's birthday! (The grandma from my mom's side that I am named after!)

Happy Birthday To Me!

I have been pretty busy since school started back Wednesday...







Then Thursday, August 2 was my birthday! I got called up to the office and I got flowers! I texted Matt and asked, if it was him. But, I didn't get his text until after school which said, "maybe lol (:" and another one saying he was picking me and Joni up from High school! I was so happy to see him! When I got home I put my beautiful flower and got them into water. Then he gave me the card it was so cute!
Then I got to open the present... he got me silver sparkle Toms for my birthday! They are adorable! My mom and dad gave me my birthday present early which was money! So I just added it to my school clothes money! After Samuel and Julie got off the bus, everybody sung, "Happy birthday to you!" Then I cut the cake! Thanks momma, daddy, and Matt! (:

So much fun!

Last Tuesday, we went to a back to school bash and me and Samuel decided to take a picture with a purple thing. (I have no clue what it was, Lol) It was very cute though!
Samuel also won two toys!



Then this past Saturday, we went to a water park! My fiance' and my sister Sara's fiance' came along with us. We had a wonderful time! Although we all got burned! It was very fun still! Matt and me took Samuel into the water and watched over him while momma and daddy got ready to get into the water... Samuel would pretend like he was swimming, it was the cutest thing. Then he would start jumping off the side of the pool into the water with his head under water! He has always loved water but he is also very afraid of his head going under! He is getting so brave! Matt and me kept swimming in the 4'6 area while momma and daddy watched Samuel. Then I decided to go off the diving board, into 12'6 water! It was so much fun! Momma and daddy came and joined Sara, Josh, Matt, Julie, and me in the 4'6 water while Joni watched Samuel! We all had great WONDERFUL time!









Yesterday, Joni and momma went over to the high school for Joni's freshman orientation! I can't believe she will be in high school! Joni is very excited but you can still see the fear of being high school in her eyes!

I go Monday, to pick up my class schedule and pay for my locker! I am excited to start my Senior year but, I still don't want summer to end!

1 year and 9 months.

Yesterday Matt and me got to go on our date with my mom and dad. We went to an Italian rsturant. Samuel really wanted to go of course I didn't mind and neither did Matt. Matt loves Samuel to death! We also went to Mighty Dollar and the Dollar tree. It was very fun, we all had a great time out together!
Today Matt and me have been together for 1 year and 9 months! I could not picture myself with someone else! He is my best friend and I don't know what I would do with out him! He is truly a blessing to me. He loves me for who I am, and loves my family. He is so sweet to me all the time!

Love and Prayer.

This makes me think of the love Jesus had for us dying on the cross. The love all of our soldiers have for us to fight for our freedom.
Matt has been talking again about possibly joining the military. I told him no. But, what if that's what God is calling him to do?
Did I just tell Matt to tell God no?
He keeps telling me he feels like that is where God is calling him.
I told him to pray about it but I don't know if he has or not because of me telling him no. Matt has always wanted to join the military but he said that all changed when I came along. But, every now and then he tells me he feels that God is calling him to do that. Please pray that God will show Matt what he wants him to do with his life.

Ugh...

Matt and me have been planning to go on a date for a while now... for some reason it ALWAYS gets cancelled! We planned to go on the 4th of July. Sara said if she got to go to the mall Sunday then she would let my mom and dad get out of the house for 3-4 hours this week... Well Matt is off work this week. He came up with the idea to go on a date on the 4th of July. Well Sara said that wouldn't be fair (even though she had her date with Josh) because it was 4th of July and Josh is also off work that day. So now all of it is ruined because momma and daddy were going to go with us on our date and they can't leave Josh and Sara here alone. So now for the 4th time our date has been cancelled! Even though Sara got her way going to the mall Sunday, and momma and daddy never picked the day. Even though Sara said that they could not knowing if they would pick the 4th of July! I am so mad and upset! This ALWAYS happens when Matt and me plan something. It's not fair!

Chicken Taco Chili

Makes 8 servings, and each serving is about 200 calories!
All you need is:
1 Can black beans
1 Can kidney beans
1 Can corn kernels
16oz Tomato sauce
28oz Diced tomatoes
1 Packet taco seasoning
1tbsp Chili Powder
3 Boneless chicken breasts
.... and a crock pot.

Me and my mom made this today (we doubled the recipe). We boiled the chicken and then cut it up and put it in the crock pot and then threw everything else in. It took about 4-5 hours on low.



My dad also added a few things: cheese and onions.



Then I took a tortilla shell and put chicken taco chili inside and added sweet heat jalapenos and mrs. Renfrow's hot sauce and cheese. It was amazing!

We also made dip out of it my dad added some hot sauce to the chicken taco chili and jalapenos and cheese, and we dipped tortilla chips with a hint of jalapeno.

This is alot better than Chili! You must try it!

It's Hot!

Today Samuel (my little 6 year old brother) and me went outside to play...
It was so hot! We first got out his four wheeler and I watched him while he rode it.
Of course we had to take pictures! So he decided he wanted to pose..



Soon, the battery died so we took it in and put it back on charger. Then, we wanted a fun way to stay cool so... We got out the slip and slide, though that didn't last too long. I thought of some fun games to play; we played baseball, and done an obstacle course! The obstacle course involved putting our heads under water, which kept us cool! Then I got out the water holes and sprayed him with water and he sprayed me with water. We also made a rainbow!



No we are inside enjoying the nice air conditioning! I hope everybody is having a great summer!

Metting The Love Of My Life

After being homeschooled for two years (7th and 8th grade) I went back to public school. Now being in high school I wasn't sure what to expect. I wasn't sure if my old friends would remember me or not, or if I would have to make new ones. It was hard at first but I got used to it. I joined a program called JROTC also known as Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps, I then joined Drill Team (after school program to become more involved in the program) this was the first time meeting Steven Matthew Karr. He tried to talk to me, but I didn't know what to say! I was a very shy person then... Soon I quit Drill Team right before Christmas break. That meant no more seeing nor talking to him. Sophmore year came and I decided to get back on Drill Team, this time I had to be at school at 5:40 A.M. This also meant I got to see and talk to Matt again! We talked for about a month, and every night on facebook. He told me I was beautiful and how great of a friend I was! I asked him if he would sit with me on the bus when we went on a JROTC field trip, he said yes!!! I was so nervous! He held out his hand like he wanted me to hold his hand, I was so nervous I don't know what I was thinking I grabbed his hand! I know my palms must have been sweaty considering he let go and wiped his hand off, I thought that maybe I got the wrong impression and he didn't want to hold hands. Then, to my suprise he grabbed my hand! We held hands for such a long time, we both kept having to let go and wipe off our hands. I could tell he was nervous just like me! We got back to school and talked about the day. I wanted him to ask me out! His friends kept on at him to ask me out, he finally got them to leave him alone. But, it wasn't like we were by ourselves... he kept comparing a poster to a picture of Military ribbons. He kept pacing back and forth and I just kept watching him and then he whispered "Will you go out with me?", my wish had come true. But, what did I say? Well if you are wondering I said, "What did you say?" What?!? Why did I say that! Why did I not say yes?! He said it a little bit louder but, still he whispered. So I kept on saying, "What did you say?" He finally stoped whispering, and asked me. Of course I said, yes! I mean why wouldn't I; he was handsome, sweet, believed in God, and treated me like a lady! He was perfect! It was official! Matt and me were finally together! Of course I never thought that me and him would have been together this long! But we have been and we are still going strong! Even though now we live about 70 miles apart because of my family taking in my grandpa, and there were no houses big enough and in our price range... I only get to see him once a week but, it has made us stronger! We have been together for 1 year, 8 months, and 14 days! He is the love of my life and my best friend! I don't know what I would do without him!

I am engaged... I know what you are thinking, "aren't you a little young to be engaged?" It's not like I will be getting married tomorrow so no. I don't have the year set yet. But I know it will be on August 16th.
